Some Questions about Diesel Generator

1.What is the power factor of the three-phase generator? Can a power compensator be added to improve the power factor?
Answer: The power factor is 0.8. No, because the charging and discharging of the capacitor will cause fluctuations in the small power supply and the Genset oscillates.

2.Why do we require customers to tighten all electrical contacts every 200 hours of operation?
Answer: The diesel generator set is a vibrating working device. Moreover, many domestically produced or assembled units should use double nuts, but they did not use them. Once the electrical fasteners are loosened, a large contact resistance will be generated, resulting in abnormal operation of the generator set.

3.Why must the generator room be clean and free of floating sand on the ground?
Answer: If the diesel engine sucks in dirty air, the power will decrease; if the generator sucks in the sand and other impurities, the insulation between the stator and rotor gaps will be damaged, and the worst will cause burnout.

4.Must the load carried by the generator maintain three-phase balance during use?
Answer: Yes. The maximum deviation must not exceed 25%, and phase-loss operation is strictly prohibited.

5.What is the biggest difference between diesel engine and gasoline engine?
Answer:
1) The pressure in the cylinder is different. Diesel engines compress air in the compression stroke stage; gasoline engines compress the gasoline and air mixture in the compression stroke stage.
2)Different ignition methods. Diesel engines rely on atomized diesel to spray high-pressure gas spontaneously; gasoline engines rely on spark plugs for ignition.
