So what are the factors that affect the fuel consumption of diesel generator sets?
The brand of diesel engine determines the fuel consumption of diesel generators. Different brands of the engine have different fuel consumption. Besides, the size of the electric load, the larger the load, the larger the fuel consumption, and the smaller the load, the lower the fuel consumption.
So how can we make diesel generator more fuel-efficient?
1. We can increase the cooling water temperature of the diesel generator. In this way, the overall temperature of the diesel generator is high, the combustion can be relatively complete, and the oil viscosity can be reduced, which also reduces the running resistance of the diesel generator and achieves the effect of fuel-saving.
2. Purify the fuel. You can buy back the fuel in advance and put it aside for a few days before using it. Then the sediment will settle to the bottom. Some diesel generators come with fuel filters that can be purified automatically. However, the fuel filter is a vulnerable part, so it is generally necessary to purchase a replacement from the manufacturer after 500 hours of operation.
3. Don’t overload it. Overloading not only consumes more fuel but also greatly shortens the life of diesel generator sets.
4. Regular maintenance of diesel generator. The maintenance of a diesel generator is a very important task. Because the generator set will have a certain amount of wear during operation, we need to maintain the generator at this time. If the maintenance is improper, the diesel generator set will slowly form abnormal wear. The cylinder liner, cylinder diameter, piston, etc. of the diesel generator set may be worn to a certain extent, which may cause the diesel generator set to have dirty oil scraping, even difficult to start, blue smoke, etc. So be sure to perform routine maintenance on diesel generators.
5. Ensure that the diesel generator does not leak oil. Check the diesel generator set every day.
